Improve Interpersonal Relationships via Mindfulness

Can Mindfulness affect your relationship with your spouse, a parent or a friend? We know it can for the better.  Learn how to harness the power of mindfulness to improve day to day relationships and bring greater happiness and contentment in your life. The one day retreat will allow you to learn the basics and the details of mindful relationships as well as mindful practice in difficult relationships.

Learn mindfulness from leaders in the field. Drs. Jain and Muesse, who are nationally recognized mindfulness teachers and advocates, bring a unique sensibility to the practice of meditation. Dr. Jain holds an MD from Boston University and specializes in infectious diseases and body-mind research. Dr. Muesse is a Harvard-trained authority in world religion and spirituality. Together they blend the perspectives of a physician and a philosopher to create a distinctive and compelling approach to mindful living.

The Advancing Mindfulness retreat is open to beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The retreat will involve both theoretical and practical components of meditation based on a model developed by Drs. Jain and Muesse through years of practice, research, and teaching. Instruction will include discussion of health and physical well-being, insight and wisdom, personal and social peacefulness, empathy and compassion, and spiritual development. Practice will include sitting, walking, loving-kindness, and eating meditation; progressive body awareness practice; mindful conversation; and free time to enjoy the outdoor beauty of the conference center.

The retreat will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 31. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM. The retreat ends at 9:00 PM on Saturday, March 31.
